Diana Bigham

MA

Diana has worked with individuals and families since 2007. Early in her career, she specialized in treating trauma and abuse and worked with high profile cases. Her work with at-risk youth and victims of crime inspired her to later focus much of her work on mental health prevention and finding ways to educate individuals and families with practical application, firmly believing the old saying “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

When working with individuals and families, Diana tries to educate her clients on the connection between mental health and managing a person’s thought life and personal relationships through appropriate boundaries and communication skills.

Education and Experience

Diana is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Supervisor and AAMFT Board Approved Supervisor. She’s also a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with her Masters of Arts in Family Psychology in 2006 with a 4.0 and was honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award.

Diana has worked with at-risk children and youth at residential treatment setting, through grant-funded county programs, and at a Crime Victim Assistance Center. She also helped establish a Children’s Advocacy Center in rural Texas before entering into private practice full time.

In 2013, she was trained as a facilitator in inner healing prayer ministry after studying how to heal trauma through prayer, based on attachment theory, brain science, and rooted in biblical scripture. In 2018, she began studying Kingdom entrepreneurship and later became a 100X Certified Coach while also co-directing a team of prayer ministers whose primary responsibility was to pray for heart healing for entrepreneurs. Diana has facilitated hundreds of prayer sessions for individuals all over the world during her time as an inner healing director.

In 2019, Diana launched the Unveiling Heirs podcast to provide to resource Christian families with tips for Kingdom living. In 2020, Diana opened the doors to The Journey to Unveiling Heirs, an online Christian parent membership to help families raise children with emotional health, relational maturity and spiritual wisdom. She has also self-published several resources which can be found on Amazon.

Clinical Approach

Diana’s approaches counseling from a biopsychosocial model. She considers the impact that a person’s physical health, psychological (thinking, feeling, doing) state, and relationships have on their mental health. For those who request, Diana also may incorporate faith-based approach to mental health, including prayer ministry and training Christian clients in growing their confidence to recognize the way God speaks.

Diana helps clients feel empowered in their mental health journey by better understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors through simplified educational lessons  and with practical application.
