Thomas Hudson, LPC

Thomas Hudson
Thomas provides supportive individual counseling focused on teen and young adult clients. He offers a calm, conversational, and skills-based approach that helps clients process thoughts and emotions, gain perspective, and build practical tools for daily challenges.
Thomas works collaboratively with teens and young adults to strengthen insight, perspective, and coping skills. His approach is conversational and reflective, helping clients clarify thoughts and emotions and build practical strategies for everyday stress and transitions.
When appropriate, Thomas may include short parent-teen meetings focused on improving communication and understanding; these sessions are designed to support the individual’s progress rather than serve as formal family therapy.
Education and Experience
Thomas holds a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling which he received from Liberty University with a high distinction. Thomas completed his Bachelors Degree in Theology through Global University. During his graduate program Thomas internship in a private practice counseling center where he was able to work with individuals and co-lead group counseling sessions for teens and adults. Thomas completed his internship for licensure at a therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens. Here Thomas was able to work firsthand with crisis situations, anxiety, depression, adoption, substance use, mood disorders, destructive behaviors and more severe mental health and life adjustment issues that teens face in todays society. While there Thomas was able to provide extensive help to the teens within the program and their parents by working with everyone involved to receive healing, skills, and direction for the teen and their family.
Clinical Approach
Thomas uses a supportive, client-centered style that emphasizes listening, reflection, and collaboration. He often draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) elements to help clients better understand how thoughts and beliefs influence mood and behavior. His work is best suited for clients who benefit from insight and perspective rather than directive intervention.
Special Focus: Tween, Teen & Young Adult Counseling
Thomas’s focus is on adolescents and young adults. While he welcomes youth and adults, he does not specialize in early childhood or couples therapy.

Who Thomas May Not Be the Best Fit For
I work primarily in an individual counseling format and focus on helping clients process thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a one-on-one setting. This process is exploratory and best suited for those who are ready to open up and commit to a regular schedule to keep momentum.
I may not be the best fit for individuals who want a quick fix. I also may not be the best match for clients who are looking for court-mandated treatment, high-conflict family mediation, or therapy with clients who have limited flexibility in scheduling.
If I’m not the right fit, I’m always happy to help connect you with another clinician or resource that may better meet your needs.
